The Team

I’m really privileged that we have managed to build up a very loyal team over the years, with very low staff turnover, which is all important when striving for the top. It is often noted how happy and relaxed our horses are, and how well they look, with many best-turned out prizes coming our way. I’m a firm believer that happy and healthy horses are the key to training winners, and this is where the team is so important. Below are some of the key members of the team, but every single member of our staff is invaluable, and they all have the welfare and wellbeing of their horses as their primary goal.

Richard Farmer - Travelling Head Lad

I have worked in racing for over 14 years in England and in Ireland where I grew up. I have worked for trainers all over the country including John Akehurst, Ray White and Mel Brittain, plus Con Collins in Ireland. I have had over 100 rides as an apprentice, riding 3 winners and many places. The best winner I have ridden is probably Contrary Mary at Epsom. I was one of the 'final three' in the Groom/Work Rider category at the Stud and Stable Staff Awards 2008, Sponsored by Godolphin.

Louisa Allen - Head Girl

I have been in racing in Epsom for 18 years now where I have worked for trainers including Roland O'Sullivan, Ron Smythe and Simon Dow, where I was second travelling lad. Over the years I have had the privilege to work with some great horses including My Best Valentine, Young Ern and Chief's Song. I joined Jim Boyle's yard as Head Girl at an exciting time as the yard is seeing new horses arrive all the time, so no day is ever quite the same. I also update the facebook page so you are kept up to date with all of the thrills...and spills of the week.

Jemma Sayers

I have been riding horses all my life. I work in the office for Jim as his secretary. I do occasionally ride out the odd lot here when I am needed. I have 2 ex-racehorses (Patron of Confucius, Bariloche), who I have re-trained to event. This keeps me very busy. Plus I am also studying to be a massage therapist at college. My day is never the same as you can guess.
